Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is born in Romania and is a Romanian actor and TV host. She is best known for her role as the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control as well as Rush. As the sole daughter of Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into the show business at an early age and was performing lead roles in various shows on television by the time she was sixteen. The critically acclaimed character she played in the show Der Tunnel, Alexandra went further to take on other memorable role like Adolf's secretary Traudljunge as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. The film received nominations for an Oscar and received critical acclaim. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are other Oscar nominees featuring female stars. Alexandra is involved in various notable films, in both the US and abroad. The projects she worked on include those of the British biographical film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time and as the French miniseries about the history of Napoleon. Also, she was on the jury for the Transylvania International Film Festival, and also at Cannes Film Festival.
